Please Feel Free to Visit!
No one could be blamed for being hesitant to visit at an unfamiliar church.
We'll try to explain what our services are like to help alleviate those concerns.
The best way to experience for yourself whether or not these
things are true is to check out Helena for yourself.
What to Expect When You Visit With Us
You can expect a courteous and friendly welcome. Please use
our special preferred Visitor Parking spaces in the front of the building.
We want your visit to be easy and trouble free.
Courtesy and Kindness
First of all, you will find no exclusive seating for any person. Everyone
is treated with equal courtesy and kindness (Acts 10:34,35;
Gal. 3:28). You will not be singled out or embarrassed in any way. You can
quietly observe and study that which you see and hear (1
Cor. 14:40).
Order and Reverence
Our worship services are simple and orderly. You will not
be confused by several people speaking or praying at the same time. Good order
will prevail at every service (1 Cor. 14:33). At each service, you will observe
one of the brethren leading the congregation reverently and
quietly in prayer (1 Tim. 2:1-5).
Singing
Like the first century Christians, we will engage in the singing of psalms,
hymns, and spiritual songs (Eph. 5:19). God has commanded the sincere
praise of His people to come from the heart (Col.
3:16). Our song worship is not intended to entertain or heighten emotions
but to offer sincere praise to God and to encourage and teach
one another.
Communion
Each Sunday you will observe the congregation partaking of the Lord's
Supper (unleavened bread and fruit of the vine) in memory of the
death of Christ (Matt. 26:26-29). We observe the Lord's Supper every Sunday,
just as the Christians in the first century did (Acts 20:7).
Collections
Collections are taken each Lord's day (1 Cor. 16:1-3). The work of the Helena
church is supported entirely by the free-will offerings of
its members. Each member gives from the heart what he or
she has purposed. No minimum amounts are quotas are imposed. Visitors
are under no obligation to support our work nor are they pressured
to do so.
Bible Study
You will observe the high reverence that is given the Bible
during classes and in our teaching. You will never be asked to accept what
some man says about the Bible - we want you to read the Bible for
yourself to see "whether those things are so" (Acts 17:11).
You will be more than welcome at any and all of our services.
Please come and bring your Bible to "search the scriptures" with
us.
